Selection Guide for TRANSIT CASES

The following three transit cases are available for the ect MAD 8D-XS eddy current system:

Description(click link for photo) Weight Dimensions Color
BSI Transit Case18 lbs. 20 x 13 x 17" Yellow
ect Transit Case 28 lbs. 20 x 18 x 17" Yellow
Soft-Side Transit Case 17 lbs. 18 x 13 x 16" Gray

The BSI and ect Transit Cases are hard side (plastic laminated plywood with aluminum reinforced edges and steel reinforced corners). The BSI Transit Case, being smaller and lighter, has only one handle on top, and is the transit case best suited for a crew of one, but as it weighs 55 lbs. when packed with the computer, it is difficult for one person to do a stair climb. The ect Transit Case includes an internal compartment for accessories such as calibration tubes, the ect MAD 8D Amplifier, and accessory cables. This transit case is equipped with three handles: one on top, and one on each of two sides. It is convenient for a crew of two who must do a stair climb.

Both the BSI and ect Transit Cases are well suited to travel as checked airline luggage or air freight, and both can be used as a place to sit at the job site.

The soft-side transit case includes an integral luggage cart with wheels and handle for easy handling of the ect MAD 8D eddy current system on flat surfaces. The light weight makes it most suitable of the three for a crew of one who must do a stair climb. It is not suitable for travel as checked luggage or air freight.
