With almost 30 years experience in eddy current testing, Monty has been involved with everything from eddy current testing of oil wells to detect movable hydrocarbons in the Caribbean to eddy current inspection of nuclear steam generator tubes to detect circumferential cracks at the tube sheet expansion transition zone in Asia. An Electronics Design Engineer, Monty founded Eddy Current Technology Incorporated in 1979 to design and manufacture multi-frequency eddy current instruments for the heat exchanger tube inspection market. Monty's products are now in over 30 countries worldwide for applications such as production inspection of fasteners, air frame inspection, in addition to the application of heat exchanger tube inspections.
This series of articles is intended as an introduction to heat exchanger tube inspection with eddy current.
